Illustrated Phan-Fic: Phantasm Regeneration
by Dustin McNeill

Writing fan-fics has never been my thing so I'm a bit weirded out that I've actually written this little story down. This is what I imagined happened after Jebediah Morningside crossed through the space-gate in Phantasm: Oblivion. You'll have to excuse the poorly-realized photoshop images. I thought they might spice it up a tad bit.

Moments after crossing through the dimensional time fork, Jebediah Morningside found himself in a strange new world. The heat was sweltering and he could feel the gravitational pull weighing down on his bones. Unable to get up off his knees, he soon fell unconscious from the strain of simply being.

Jebediah awoke to the same hell-ish world he'd just crossed into only now; he was imprisoned, mysteriously cuffed at the wrist to two solid black poles not unlike the chrome space-gate of his own design. Hungry, thirsty and aching, Jebediah could hear nothing but the scorching clouds above him storming around in the atmosphere. He could see all the way to the blank, empty crimson skyline. Without warning, he felt the two poles begin to vibrate. Just a little at first, they then began to tremble and he felt a charge of some sort pulsating through his cuffs.

An excruciating electricity surged throughout his body and he writhed in agony on the ground. This lasted for an entire minute, seemingly ages. When the unexplainable phenomena stopped, Jebediah was was severely weathered, physically-speaking, from the episode. His face bore several fresh bruises and blood trickled from his lip. He felt as though some part of him had just been taken away. Something inside had begun to die.

No sooner could Jebediah identify his own feelings did a figure begin to emerge from his being. Translucent at first, whatever was being birthed from Jebediah Morningside's person was quickly become solid and taking on human form. A dark suited, extremely Tall Man emerged in his own image. The figure took a single look backward at Jebidiah and then walked off into the horizon holding a silver sphere.

Confused and broken, Jebediah lye chained to the blackened, dead space-gate where he would remain throughout the generations. Unable to sleep, his thoughts would soon grow tired from a lack of stimulation and his mind would die. Jebediah no longer lived on the Crimson Planet. He simply lingered until his doppleganger needed a new body.
