Please believe choosing a winner for this
contest was not easy. Each time I thought I had a snapshot that was
sure to top all others; another one came along and blew the rest away.
If I could afford it, I'd send everyone a disc and poster just for
entering and giving me a chuckle. The winner was 'Nash023494' and he
will receive a Phantasmic DVD of his choice and a poster. Congrats,
mate. I'll probably post eventually more of the near two dozen entries
I received than this, but until that day; enjoy Nash's photo. Guy put a
lot of effort into this, no?
For Archival
purposes, the original Contest page appears below:
We've been doing this website gig for a
full five months now and we feel that we're ready to hold our first
contest. What we're looking for is very simple: for phans to send in their best "Tall
Man Face" photos. You know what we're talking about; the cocked
eyebrow, the frown, the general look of scowl. You don't have to deck
out in a black morticians suit or dye your hair grey for this contest
(but if you do, it'll only help your entry!), just a facial expression
will do.
We're starting off pretty small for this first contest... up for grabs
we have a DVD
of your choosing and a reprint poster for the first Phantasm. As
for that poster; it'll come folded up inside the case of whatever DVD
you select. While the folds are unfortunate; we've seen ourselves that
they vanish when shown a little love by framing it. Your choices for
the DVD are as follows:
- Phantasm (The Anchor Bay Collection, R1) (Amazon
details)
- Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead (The
Anchor Bay Collection, R1) (Amazon
details)
- Phantasm: Oblivion (MGM Home Video, R1) (Amazon
details)
- Masters Of Horror: Incident On And Off A
Mountain Road (Anchor Bay, R1) (Amazon
details)
This
contest is open to every last corner of the globe. Whether you're in
the USA or Australia, Italy or England, you can enter to win this prize
package. Regardless of where you live, however, the DVDs will only come
in R1 format so you'd better have a hacked or region-free player if you
live outside R1.
By e-mailing in your photo, you give us the right to publish if we so
choose here on The Phantasm Archives website. We can't guarantee that
all photos will be put on display afterwards, but we do guarantee that
the winning photo will be posted.
